WE ARE HAVING A BABY GIRL!!

A Hard Day

We went to see Dr. Zavala yesterday, we were hooked up to a baby heart monitor so they could monitor baby Sophia's heart. Her heart was 144-148 which is good, then the bottom of the piece of paper were my contractions. Dr Z came in and said do you feel these I said nope. Don't feel them at all. She said come back in a week and we will check your cervix and talk about inducing you. I said okay. Grant and I were walking out and she called my name, I turned around she was joging down the hall way. She said here in this "love letter" that she recieved from Specialist Dr.Rieter it says to deliver before or at 36weeks. Well yesterday I was 36w2d. oh boy. I have been freaking out ever since.

They want her to be delivered to they can check her abdomen. It has always measured behind a few weeks. Now its only behind a week or so. I am so very worried about my princess. I just can't sleep I am so upset I just cry. Today we go and see Dr Rieter, Dr Z wants us to call her while we are in the room with him. They will decide on what day we need to induse. Today tomorrow or Friday.

I only hope and pray that we induce and Sophia comes out healthy and there isn't anything wrong with her. It is going to really kill me if I have to leave my precious angel in the nicu.

Oh God please please please see to it that Sophia is born healthy and the doctors were just being overly cautious. I beg of you.

Worried about our baby

I am so worried about Sophia, we went to see the specialist on Tuesday 6/22 Dr Rieter said that she weighed 3lbs 8oz that she is gaining weight just not fast enough. I went to see Dr Zalava my reg obgyn. She told me that she is worried that Sophia is to small. I had a non stress test to make sure Sophia's heart and everything was good, and it was. I have to go back every week now since next week I am 35weeks. Everytime we go we will have a non stress test, which they will put a heart monitor around my belly to make sure Sophia's heart is not in any stress.

We go back to see Dr Rieter on Tuesday July 6th and then we will decide if we are going to deliver the baby. From everything that I have read, her lungs and everything should be completely develpoed and the only thing that the doctors see wrong is that she is just not ganing weight as quickly as they would like..

Last time we went to Dr Rieters was on 6/8 Sophia weighed 2lbs 12oz then on June 22nd she weighed 3lbs 8oz..

I am trying very very very very hard, not to think to much about it because I am so so worried that our precious baby girl will have to be in Niccu, and I don't want that.

If we have to deliver we will decide when I am 36 weeks, so hopefully she will come out PERFECT! and they will say that she is fine, and healthy.

I think things are WONDERFUL!!!

So at the doctors yesterday, he said that she should weigh 3lbs. Well our daughter weighs 2lbs 12oz which is only 4oz shy of 3lbs. She is going to be small HELLO! She is just fine. I am so glad that she is growing and gaining weight. There is a picture that I will upload later, where our Sophia sticks her tounge out! Its pretty amazing! I love it!! She already has an Attituted her daddy said.

Well I just wanted to let you know that everything is good, and we will keep checking. I will find out tomorrow if we have to keep going to the specialist. I don't think its necessary that we see both doctors, Sophia is doing great! I think the specialist just wants $$$... They tried to charge us 95.00 instead of our normal 44.00 I was like you guys are crazy! Not going to happen, and then they said oh okay its just 44.00 ughh!! Hopefully yesterday was the last day!

Doctors appt today

Hello,

Today we have a doctors appt with the specialist, hopefully this is the LAST TIME we have to go. The specialist told Dr. Zavala ( my reg OBGYN) Sophia is doing just fine, she is just a little small!! Well come to find out I was 6lbs 7oz and Grant was not even a 6lb baby! So I see why we are going to have a small baby! Which is fine with us.

Thursday June 10th we go and see Dr. Zavala and we will update again then.

Wonderful News!!!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday we had an appt for Dr. Zavala and things went great! She is our normal OBGYN, she said that things are going GOOD!! She said that she got a letter from the specialist, and she was plesently suprised by the good news. Sophia is growing normally now, although she is a little on the small side she is doing great. The amniontic fluid is now normal but a on the lower side as well. But she is doing wonderful, Dr. Z said she was happy that Sophia gained 8oz at the last appt with the specialist! So I was over the moon when we left the doctors yesterday! As you can imagine, We have been so worried about our baby.

Today is the day we go to the specialist, hopefully he will tell us that she has gained more weight, and is doing wonderful!!!!! I have gained a little weight so hopefully that means so has she!!

We will write once we know what is happening.

BABY GIRL IS GROWING!

Good morning,

Yesterday we went to see the specialist, and he said that her abdimin has grown from 21w5d to 24w5d, which is a good sign so she is growing!! Thank God!!!! The amniontic fluid is fine, it has gone up a bit. She gained 8oz in 2 weeks!!! that is wonderful!! So she weighs 1 lb 9oz!! How precious is that! :) Such a relief that she is continiuing to grow.. The doctor is still concerned because now is the time that she has to really grow, like double and triple her size in the next month.. We have our next appt in 2 weeks, so on May 26th @ 3:10pm we will go back. So I only hope and pray that she can pull this off!! She will do great I know it..

Funny story that happend while we were there, the doctor asked if she moves. OMG this little one moves like crazy! Yesterday morning she was in there playing soccer or something. From one side of my belly to the other, there was kicking and movement going on. TOOO FUNNY!!!! Anyways the doctor was trying to get her to move, of course while we were there she was sleeping! She didn't want him to watch her move, just mommy gets to feel it. So he gets this noise maker and puts it on my belly. NOTHING! He said well she is sleeping hard. He tries it again, she moved her legs a little. not much but enough to show him that she moves. HE THEN DOES IT AGAIN, and she just lays there, like dude I just moved for you leave me alone!! Grant said oh she is so much like her Mommy already!! Stubbern!!!! haha!! I love it!

While we were home watching Chuck, I laid on my side and Sophia was kicking me. To the point I actually had to stand up to get her to move. I laid back down, and she started again. Grant put his hand on my belly, and he said I felt it, that one was real light. Then BAM! He was like WOW that was a hard one! He just lit up, he was so excited that, that he got to feel her move. It melts my heart, that they were having bonding time!!

I love you both with all my heart!! Sophia you need to keep up the growing and the good work! We love you the world!!!

Hard day..

We went to see the specialist yesterday, he is concerned about our little Sophia.
I am 25weeks and 4 days along, 6 months and 1 week. Sophia's body is growing well on schedule, but her abdomen is not growing enough. Her abdomen is measuring at 21weeks 3 days. They believe this is because we have low amniotic fluid, and that is where she gets her nutrition from. If she continues to grown and show improvement I will be able to carry her longer.

If she doesn't grow or she slows down on gaining weight we will have to make the decision on delivering her early. Not sure how early but early.

We have to see the specialist every 2 weeks and hopefully each time she will get better.

I am so worried, I couldn't sleep last night I am so worried about our Princess.

Please pray for us and Sophia, I need to be strong for her but this has to be the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life.

I was looking on line for up lifting quotes from The Bible, and I came accross the following and it made me feel good. At least it cheered me up a little.

Good morning,

I am sitting here at work, trying my best to concentrate but it is very difficult because I am very anxious to see the specialist today. I am worried, because I don't want anything to be wrong. I only hope a pray that everything will be okay, and our little Sophia will be able to grow in my belly. Ugh.. I am ready for 1:50 so we can head off to the doctors, our appointment is at 2:40pm which means we probably wont get in to see the doctor until at least 4pm. Not to excited about sitting there and worrying the time away. But hopefully he will say everything is just fine.

I am not to fond of this doctor, they asked me to call my OBGYN and get when I had my first sonogram and then to call them. I did that called them left a message and NO RESPONSE BACK! Not sure why, but hopefully this will be the last time we have to see him.

Everyone pray that things will go smoothly, and they were just being cautious!!

To our precious Sophia- Mommy and Daddy love you with all our hearts and can't wait to hold you in our arms. <3

Specialist Doctors Appt

Hi Everyone,

We went to the specialist yesterday, we waited two hours which is insane! But he is worried about what could happen with Sophia. He gave us two different scenarios, one was good and one was bad.

The first scenario that the dates are off on the pregnancy, if that is the case than as of yesterday I was 22 weeks and 3 days, instead of 24 weeks. If I am only 22 weeks and 4 days as of today, then Sophia is growing normally and their is enough liquid. This would mean everything is fine with the pregnancy just the due date would be off.

The second scenario is very scary, if the dates are not off and I am 24 weeks and 1 day today, then the placenta is not growing and the baby isn't producing enough liquid to stay in for another 4 months. She is not getting any nutrition.

If this is the case I will have to deliver Sophia very early. I will be able to carry her until there is just no more room, and the liquid gets to low.

Grant and I are praying that this is not the case and the dates are just off. Keep us in your prayers.

Gosh I so hope the dates are off! and that nothing is wrong with our little girl.

Finally an appt time.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I didn't post last night, I have been exhausted from not sleeping because I am so worried about our precious Sophia. Finally I slept last night since I know we have a doctors appt. The doctor called me yesterday at 447pm, yes the end of the day had me in panic mode all day!! UGHH! Anyways the good news is that we have an appt on Monday April 12th, at Noon. Grant is going to take off, and I believe that Grants mom is going to be going with us as well. We are all very concerned. The doctor that we are seeing is Dr. Rieter, he works at Houston Perinatal Associates, Down town Houston. From reading reviews online he is supposed to be an amazing doctor. I take comfort in knowing that we are going to someone that people rave about.

We will update on what the doctor says on Monday. Pray that everything goes well.

Good morning everyone,

I just got off the phone with the Doctor, I told her that we wanted to go to Texas Children's Hospital to make sure everything was okay with Sophia. We have the best Doctors here in Houston, so we should use them!! We should have an appt with in the next two weeks.

The doctor told me that there are 4 pockets of fluid, that the ultra sound tech might have only been able to see one or two and the other pockets might be full. She told me not to worry, that this was just a precaution. She did tell me to drink at least 32oz of liquid a day, and to STAY OFF THE INTERNET (she means do not look up what happens if there is low amniotic fluid) I told her what I read, and she said that half of the things that they say are made up. I do feel a little better because this happened to her first daughter, and everything went fine. I just hope that it doesn't get worse to where I have to be put on bed rest.

Please pray that everything with our precious Sophia will be okay, I know GOD is looking down on us because Nana went to the Doctors in Down Town Houston today. She had a mammogram, because the doctors in Huntsville said that something was wrong. When she got to the Doctors in Houston, they took her in and did all the tests and everything looked great! That there was NO CANCER AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!! THANK YOU GOD!!!! <3 I was so relieved to hear that. One less things for me to worry about.

I have a feeling that everything will be okay with Sophia and I. I will just have to keep praying.

April 01 2010 Doctors Visit

Hi Everyone,

We went to the doctors today, Sophia looked great. Pictures of her are below. I am 22 weeks now. The doctor did give us some bad news, they told us that we needed to see a specialist because the amniotic fluid is low. She told us that her assistant would be calling us to let us know when the appt will be. We will update as soon as we hear something. I personally think it is because I haven't been drinking a gallon on water a day because I didn't know that was what I was suppose to be doing. The doctor never told me anything. I will drink a gallon of water a day and hopefully we will get to see the specialist SOON, because this is killing me! Please pray for us and that the specialist doctor will say that there is nothing to be worried about.

I Finally felt her move!!

Hello everyone,

Last night laying in bed, I felt some weird movement in my belly!! It was like Sophia was doing flips! It was absolutely amazing!! Grant put his hand on my belly, and we waited for a few seconds and bam, I was all did you feel that!! He was so happy and excited, even though he wasn't feeling good. March 30th, 2010 we finally felt our baby girl move!!

Dallas Trip March 19 2010

Hi Everyone,

We went on Sophia's first trip, to Dallas! I know she isn't here yet but this was her first trip in my belly! So it counts for something!!!!! We went up to Dallas for Matthews Birthday!! Grant and I bought him an IPOD! Oh my gosh, that child would text me saying that if we decided to get him an IPOD, he would like a Green one 5th generation. Haha TOOO FUNNY! Well of course we had to go and get it for him, his teacher said if they have an Ipod that they could listen to music IN CLASS. That is the reason for wanting the Ipod. Haha makes since now, since he never wanted one before.

We took a ton of pictures of the family, we had a blast!! My mom especially is SO excited that she is going to have a Granddaughter. She would just rub and kiss my belly saying HI SOPHIA!! Too cute..

Hi Everyone, Sorry I have not wrote on the blog. I just posted it on facebook and went along my way. We went to the doctors on March 18, 2010 and had a sonogram done and found out that we are having a BABY GIRL!!! We are so over the moon excited!!! Her name is going to be

Sophia is because we love the name, and Marie is my Moms middle name.

We are so excited that we are going to have a little princess, our cousin Heather gave us this amazing bedding from Pottery Barn Kids and it is Pink, yellow Lime green with a little white. I absolutely LOVE IT!! Heather then said that they made more things for it to check ebay, she sent me a link with 2 lamp shades, and bam last night I won the auction. It just gets more and more exciting with everything that we buy.

I will post pictures of the baby soon, we have to download them off the CD. I look very pregnant now. See the picture, it was like over night that I grew!!

1st Doctors Appt, 1-7-2010

We went to the doctors today at 1:55pm and we waited a while. We finally got into the room, and oh my gosh was it amazing!!!!! We got to see our baby for the first time, it brought tears to our eyes. We are so over joyed!! The doctor said that the baby was moving around a lot for only being 10 weeks and 3 days along.

They confirmed the due date which is AUGUST 2ND 2010!! How amazing is that!!

Our next doctors appt is on February 3rd, at 4:30pm. We will get to hear the babies heart beat then. We are very excited for that day.

January 07, 2010 First Doctors appt

Grant and I are going to our first OBGYN appt today, we are so excited!!! We will hopefully be able to hear the babies heart beat for the first time! My mom says it is so amazing and that we will never forget it. I wish she were here, I am very emotional and it makes me tear up just thinking of her!

We will update once we are through with the doctors, the appt is at 1:55pm CST.
